WORLD BOOK DAY - 23 APRIL 2009
World Book And Copyright Day is a UNESCO initiative and is celebrated throughout the world on 23 April 2009. By celebrating this Day throughout the world, UNESCO seeks to promote reading, publishing and the protection of intellectual property through copyright.
On this day, the world pays tribute to books and authors, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the irreplaceable contributions of those who have furthered the social and cultural progress of humanity.
To celebrate this day, Oyez! Books for Children is giving away Oyez! books to The Residents' Bookshop, in Bangsar to be distributed for free.
The Residents' Bookshop is giving away free books from 10am to 6pm.
Information and flyers on copyright may also be obtained at the Residents' Bookshop for free!
